Call Screening
RingCentral gives you more than just caller ID capabilities. You can screen callers so that you can decide beforehand whether you should take or reject the caller, or send them to voicemail. Knowing the identity and the purpose of a caller lets you prepare for a conversation, especially for those that require crucial information to be on hand. Here are the functions you can perform along with RingCentral call screening:
- Call blocking. You can block callers based on caller ID. This prevents unwanted callers from reaching you, clearing your RingCentral line for important calls from clients and other business contacts.
- Caller lists. In the same way that you can have a list of blocked callers, you can also come up with a list of callers which would be allowed to connect to your RingCentral number. You can activate this list during weekends or at times when are not able to take calls.
- Caller identification. Aside from your usual ID wherein the name and number of the caller is displayed, you can also have the auto-attendant ask the caller to announce their name. You can hear this through your computer or through your phone.
- Text-to-audio reply. You can send out a quick reply to the caller by typing in your reply and having the auto-attendant read it to the caller. This saves you from the need to talk to the caller, which may lengthen the time of transaction.
